Union for the Mediterranean

This study carried out on behalf of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) brings together case studies on maritime clusters in the Mediterranean region, based on existing and publicly available information.

The report provides an overview of the main characteristics of the existing maritime clusters in the Mediterranean region, as well as an analysis of the distribution between the sub-regions and between the different sectors and experiences of the blue economy.

Some concrete examples are also presented, with final reflections and ideas on how best to move forward in supporting effective cluster initiatives: in each country and at the wider Mediterranean level of the different Maritime Clusters practices promoted to foster the blue economy in the Mediterranean region.
