MISTRAL

The Pôle Mer Méditerranée - Toulon Var Technologies (PMM-TVT) is a maritime cluster based in the south of France and has participated in the European project MISTRAL - Mediterranean Innovation STRAtegy for transnational activity of clusters and networks of the Blue Growth - as a partner. MISTRAL aims to create a transnational community of Mediterranean clusters, active in the fields of the blue economy.

In this context, the Pôle Mer commissioned SML to provide technical assistance in order to draw up a regional action plan for five key sectors of the blue economy in the Mediterranean (marine renewable energies, fishing and aquaculture, sustainable tourism, blue biotechnologies and maritime surveillance).

To this end, we have developed :

• An analysis of the Maritime and Coastal Capital of the two regions SUD-PACA and Occitanie.
• An inventory of each sector: key figures, context at different scales (Mediterranean, French Mediterranean coast, regions), analysis of the value chain and interactions with the Maritime and Coastal Capital, and SWOT analysis.
• A set of sectoral and cross-cutting strategic recommendations specifying the potential partners to be involved, the timeframe for the implementation of each action and its contribution to the Maritime and Coastal Capital.
