Atlantic Assistance Mechanism

The Atlantic Action Plan is the implementation tool of the Atlantic Maritime Strategy (AMS). This strategy brings together 4 EU Member States (Spain, France, Ireland, Portugal) and aims to promote cooperation between them to develop the marine and maritime economy of the area. This action plan, which was adopted in 2013, was updated in 2020 both to align with the European priorities of the Green Pact and to respond to the effects of the economic and health crisis.

In this context, SML is part of the support team for the Atlantic Action Plan as the French National Hub. Nous jouons à ce titre un rôle d’interface entre ce réseau et les acteurs nationaux notamment par l’animation d’événements thématiques et une présence aux multiples événements maritimes de la région, et accompagnons le développement de projets soutenant la stratégie.

Nous appuyons la DGAMPA, coordinateur national qui suit l’initiative SMA ainsi que les régions françaises de la façade atlantique (Aquitaine, Bretagne, Pays de la Loire et Normandie).

Nous appuyons en particulier le pilier II de la stratégie qui traite des compétences bleues et de la connaissance des enjeux maritimes.

La fonction du hub national est assurée en étroite collaboration avec le Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique pour accompagner les parties prenantes françaises intéressées et soutenir leur engagement dans le montage de projets.
